6 Months and lots of "1st's"

My 1st Halloween!

My 1st Ohio State football game!

Trying to crawl...not yet

Sucking on my toes, and showing off how flexible I am :)

Hi everyone! I am now 6 months old and growing, growing, growing! I weigh 20lbs 7oz and I'm 27 and 1/4 inches long. I'm wearing 12 month clothes and I'm getting a new carseat this week. I got my 1st tooth and still working on the other bottom tooth. I'm still a very happy baby. I'm trying to learn how to crawl, but nothing yet. I'm eating peas, beans, squash, bananas, and oatmeal. I had sweet potatoes, but it gave me bad diaper rash and even yuckier diapers :(

I'm sleeping about 9-10 hours a night now and that makes mama and papa very happy. I'm looking forward to my 1st Thanksgiving. I'm going to hang out with my 2nd cousins, Caleb and Quint. Bye bye for now!

The latest news...my 1st tooth is here. It bothers me a little, but not stopping me from eating my cereal and green veggies. I have my 6 month check up in a few weeks and I'm so excited for my trip to OHIO in 2 weeks to tailgate at the Buckeye game. I have been sitting up pretty well and I rolled from my back to my tummy last Saturday...pretty cool stuff. I'm wearing 9-12 month clothes and growing like a weed. I'm also getting ready for my 1st Halloween! I can't tell you what I'm going to be...it will be a surprise!

Minnesota and back...

Here I am with great-grandma Weber

I had to give Grandma Wickstrom smiles

Grandpa, Grandma, Auntie Shel, P.J., Papa, and I before the wedding

Mimi and I cuddling after a bottle

The 1500 mile trip to Minnesota and back went really well. We took off Friday night and drove to the border of Wisconsin...I slept all the way there. We stayed in a hotel to get a few hours of sleep and took off bright and early. We got to Great-Grandma Weber's in the afternoon and spent quality time watching football and playing. Sunday morning we were off to church and then to Minneapolis. Mama had to go buy me a new outfit for the wedding because the 6 month outfit was busting at the seams... on to 9 month clothes! I slept through the ceremony and was up for the reception to party. The trip home on Monday was long. We made it to Grandpa and Mimi's in time for a late dinner, bath, and bedtime. I was a very happy boy and enjoyed traveling for my first long road trip. It was so good to see both sets of grandparents, Auntie Shel, P.J., and to meet my Great-Grandma Weber.

4 Month Check-up!

Today was my 4 month check-up! I weigh 17lbs 4oz and am 25 and 1/4 inches long! I did really well with my shots. I actually was more upset about him looking in my mouth than the 4 pokes I got from the nurses. Dr R. said that I can start with rice cereal a few times a day to get used to the texture and eating from a spoon. Then we're on to veggies!!!

This is my newest addition to the living room. I love jumping in my "Jumperoo." Pretty soon, there isn't going to be any room left to walk upstairs! I am almost 4 months old and so next week is another doctor's appointment...more shots :(
I am finally sleeping from about 8:30pm and waking up for a bottle around 6:00am. I then sleep a little longer and get up around 8:00am. YEAH!!
Over Labor Day weekend, I'm traveling to meet my great-grandmother Irene in Minnesota and go to a wedding. I can't wait!

In my Bumbo seat...

This is my new Bumbo seat I got with a gift certificate from my Great-aunt Sue and Great-uncle Jim Wickstrom. Now I can sit up and look all around! What a great invention. I am almost 15 weeks old and pretty soon I'll be eating cereal and trying some green veggies! I am also sleeping 4-5 hour stretches at night which makes mama and papa sooooo happy :) Bye for now!

My First Baseball Game!!

On Saturday, I went to my first West Michigan Whitecaps baseball game with my Grandma and Grandpa Poffenberger, Uncle Kevin, cousin Collin, and of course, mama and papa. It was a great game and the Whitecaps won! We watched fireworks afterwards and I had a great time. I am 12 weeks old and I am holding onto toys and I like to suck on my fist and fingers. I'm still not sleeping through the night, but I am getting used to a fairly regular schedule. I smile and "talk" a lot and I am a very happy little boy... :)

On Sunday, July 9, I was baptized at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, MI. What made it extra-special was my Grandpa Wickstrom got to be part of the baptism! Everyone came over afterwards for refreshments and cake, and I took a long nap. The whole day turned out wonderful and I was so glad everyone could be part of my important day.

2 Month Wellness Exam

Today I had my 2 month check-up and I weigh 13 pounds and I'm 22 and 1/2 inches long! My doctor told mama and papa to give me a little rice cereal in my bottle at night to keep my tummy happy longer. I was such a big boy and cried only a little bit after the four shots in my legs...mama didn't cry too long either :) I am smiling more and more every day and love looking around at all of the stuff I will be able to get into soon. My legs are strong and must constantly be moving and when I do "tummy time," I can push myself around on the blanket. As soon as I figure out what to do with my hands...Look Out! All is well with mama and papa and I'm getting ready for my baptism in a week. I can't wait to meet for the first time my Aunt Mel, Uncle Paul, Uncle Lucas, and cousin P.J. who are traveling to celebrate!

Happy 1st Father's Day!

Our first family picture taken at the wedding in Gaylord, MI. Joshua slept through the ceremony and then long enough through the reception for mama and papa to eat. Then we danced and enjoyed the rest of the celebration! He did great for our first over night trip.

Almost 7 Weeks Old...

Hello everyone! I'm really excited because we are getting ready to go on our first overnight trip. Saturday we are headed to Gaylord to a wedding and I can't wait! I have been more alert and looking at so many things. Bathtime is not as horrible as it used to be and I am trying to sleep for about four hours at a time. I am still growing like a weed and eating well. I'll let you know how much I've grown in two weeks after my 2 month wellness exam. That's all that's new here...until next time.

Stinky face!!
Fun times in the bathtub...NOT!!
This is more of my idea of fun...hanging out on my exercise mat!! It makes all sorts of noises and I love to look at myself in the mirror above me. (I am quite a looker!)

Joshua had his 1 month wellness exam on Tuesday. He weighed 9 lbs 9 ounces and was 23 inches! Dr. Rzeszutko said that he was doing great and to keep up the good work. He did have to have his 2nd hepatitis shot, which he did pretty well...I was ok too. Over Memorial Day we had friends over for a cookout and Joshua got to hang out with some people his size.
